Thread: Is it true that Japanese people do not like anime?

Despite the fact that so much anime and manga is crreated in Japan, I was reading how many Japanese do not actually like anime. Do you know if this is true? I think we all assume that because it's created there, of course they would love anime or manga. But, many people in Japan are older, such as adults and seniors who might not ever read manga or watch the anime as they are into more adult shows. And, while I'm sure some Japanese children and teens love anime and manga, with there not being such a large population of children, then maybe statistically the number of people who like anime/manga would be lower. Then again, maybe some of the live action shows are more popular. There are many popular teen dramas available there in Japan and possibly these are more important for the Japanese teen than the fantasy worlds created in anime. |
