I have heard there are fewer obese people in Japan? Does anyone know if this is true? There are just as many McDonalds and KFC restaurants there and obviously they are serving someone, so it can't just be a lack of fast foods that is leading to the slimmer physique. One possibility would be the over reliance of Westerners on processed/boxed foods which often contain massive quantities of high fructose corn syrup which has been linked to obesity and diabetes. The Japanese diet focuses more on fresh ingredients including meat and vegetables bought and prepared daily. |
