"Anko" has a number of meanings. The meaning depends on how the word was used.

Most commonly, "anko" refers to sweet bean paste used in Japanese sweets. The standard form is "an" and is written in kanji like this: 餡

That poses a bit of a problem, because there are no fixed ways of writing a Japanese name. In addition, "Anko" is not a common Japanese name. Could you by any chance misreading the name?

The girl's name "Yasuko" in Japanese can be read "Anko" either mistakenly or deliberately (in humorous way).
