konbanwa, watashi wa dan. i just joined and im glad that their is a forum like this, i love it. I am in 9th grade and i really dont know much japanese. i know a little. i love manga, and anime i draw it all the time. i want to learn the japanese language, and for my brain's sake i wanna learn romaji first lol. well has any one here ever learned the japanese language from your house without going to japan or learning it in school? i would like to learn the language. this might have been answered but i havent browsed to much. Thanks for letting me in.

also i guess ill state some of my hobbies and stuff. Well, i live in America and am a student in highschool. i am into Archery and am a very skilled Bowyer. Im a huge Anime freak and a huge Lord of The Rings Fan. My favorite anime is probably Evangelion. I some day want to move to Japan and get married to a Japanese girl :-). i want to learn the japanese language and become a Yumi Bowyer.

I think you really need someone to talk to, if you really want to learn nihongo. Otherwise, you will make mistakes early on without correction. However, you can get a bit of understanding on your own. I'd say try and find a penpal to practise with, and see if you can find someone/somewhere local to speak to on occasion.

(PS: its "watashi wa dan desu" or just "dan desu" I believe.
