Hi everyone! I've only been studying for about a month and decided to try to translate a couple songs as practice. The one I'm on now is "Love & Joy" by Kimura Yuki (木村由姫). I found the lyrics in romaji and am learning the kanji as I go, but I'm stuck at "KOROPI" (コロピ?). I compared these lyrics to the song and fixed a few of the more obvious errors, maybe this is another one? None of my books had it, the translator in OS X Tiger didn't know what it was, none of the online dictionarys I used knew what it was. I did find コロピ in use in a site talking about wedding dresses and one about snowboarding. (http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/komachi/reader/200304/2003041800044.htm and http://www.dmksnowboard.com/special/special-038.htm) If it would help, I could email the song (4.2 MB, mp3) or something, so ask me by email (robdsg@spymac.com but only ask if you really intend to help, please). Also, I'm not asking for a translation of the entire song, just コロピ and how its used. But I guess if you WANT to do the whole song, it would be kinda cool to see how our end products differ :-).

Thanks in advance!
Here are the romaji lyrics:

Love & Joy -- Kimura Yuki

Oops. OS X's translator didn't like "シイト" ("SHIITO") either, so I assumed it was "shit". Was that correct?

Thanks again!

i guess SHIITO means SEAT in English.
but the original lyrics in romaji is KUUSEKI.

nanatsu KOROPI hattsu de oki
> nanatsu korobi yattsu de oki

LOVE & JOY 変えてゆく 明日を変えてく
心に虹を創る季節に
LOVE & JOY 迷わずに 迫いかけたいのは
誰かが創る 今 じゃないから

狙ってた空席は 一足違いで誰かに
なんか違ってるんじゃない 電車の窓ゆらすためいき

七つコロビ、ハつで起き
イタくても笑えば未来が変わる?

LOVE & JOY 変えてゆく アナタも変えてく
心に虹を創る季節に
LOVE & JOY ユメ色に アナタが色付く
ひとつしかないその笑顔で

好きなウタ唄って 好きな人の写真を見て
ちょっとヤル気になっている
シンプルなカンジもいいんじゃない?

結末だけがよければOK?
それだけじゃコーカイ先に立ちそう

LOVE & JOY 不器用で カッコ悪くても
誰かが創る「今」じゃないから
LOVE & JOY 変わらない ときめき探して
アナタが創る明日感じて

「君がいい」選びたくて 選ばれないコトばかりで
傷つくたび削ってきた プライドの行方を追うのはやめて

LOVE & JOY 変えてゆく アナタも変えてく
スコール虹をかける季節に
LOVE & JOY 七色に 明日が色付く
胸に抱いたその笑顔で

LOVE & JOY 変わらない ときめき探して
アナタが創る明日感じて
LOVE & JOY ユメ色に アナタも色付く
ひとつしかないその笑顔で…

LOVE & JOY CAN I CHANGE MY LIFE
