So your answer may be

I am unable to give your name in kanji because kanji carries not only a phonetic value but a meaning per se and I don't know the meaning of your name. Ask it rather to your Chinese friends.

Welcome to our Japanese forum, Miss Thumper.
Well, it is quite difficult to transcribe your name to Japanese because the sound "th" doesn't exist. But it is a common practice to transform "th" to "s" so your name should be spelled
thumper

Unfortunately, all the foreign names excepting for Chinese and Korean ones, are transcribed in Katakana characters in Japanese. Ask rather your Chinese friends who use always kanji characters for every foreign word even "coca cola".

Japanese being unable to distinguish "r" and "l" sounds, you can write your name in hiragana characters as:
hiragana liz
and in katakana characters as:
katakana liz

Dear Liz,
Japanese are unable to distinguish "r" and "l" but the sound exists. Place the point of your tongue between "l" and "r" position and especially avoid strongly vibrating it like Spanish "r".

Hello, my name is Ginga. I have recently learned that it is the Japanese word for galaxy or Milky Way. Can you show how to write my name in katakana, hiragana, and kanji? Also, how is it pronounced in Japanese? Thank you so much!

Dear Ginga, welcome to our Japanese forum.
Yes, ginga means in Japanese "Silver river", i.e. "Milky way".
In katakana characters, it is written as:
ginga_katakana,
in hiragana characters,
ginga_hiragana,
in kanji characters,
ginga_kanji,
It should be pronounced "ginga" as you said.
Kind regards,
