Hi.I am looking up some symbols for a friend of mine.He is moving into a house and is wanting to use some Japanese symbols in the decorating of his bedroom. He has a daughter that he doesn't get to see very often, but loves more than life.I found the symbol for daughter and actually like 3 symbols for love. I would like the Japanese spelling for Sissy which is what he calls her or Alyssa her real name. Thanks to any and all that help me out on this I would really like to find this info out for him.

Bottom: Alright!

To learn Japanese, first start with the alphabets, then grammar and sentence structures, a nice dictionary, an online translator (while most of them are crappy, they can help you learn simple stuff you're unsure of) (I recommend this one), and a dictionary (I recommend this one). Btw, Google search is your friend. So is this forum. Talk to us if you have any questions.

もうしわけない is written 申し訳ない, not 申し分ない...

"Give it a try" - 試してください
"If you are learning Japanese, do not hesitate to ask us questions!" - もし日本語を習っていれば、私達に質問を聞いてもいいです。

It's kind of weird, but, i'm pretty tired, and the language switching mechanism in my head isn't working... Just some questions that will aid the translation procsess:
1) Is she japanese?
2) Are you younger than her? Or "lower" in society?
3) Do you wanna be extremely polite... blah, blah, blah...
etc.etc.etc.

If you're a girl, you say "anata" instead of "kimi."

Sabrinah,
Sorry it's late for Valentine's. I can't keep up with all of the threads. "At last" is translated into やっと (yatto), but the word is not romantic in Japanese.

Well, there are two words for "sister," one is for "older sister," one for "younger sister."

I'll put the words in a nice big cursive font, since it's a tatoo.

Older Sister:

Older Sister

Younger Sister:

Younger Sister

You don't like arabic? They are fighting everyday against their enemies while the Japanese are so desperate to save their failing country that they just kiss anyone's ass, you call that warrior spirit!? They are so dumb, they had to steal their written language from China and you're just as lame, you can't even write a single sentence without making spelling mistakes.

Geesh, do you even realize what you're asking? The word 'class' has a zillion possible meanings:

"Which class are you taking at school?"
"A sedan and a sports car do not belong to the same class."
"I admire her, she really has a lot of class."
Etc

Which makes it impossible to translate it by itself.

To Sayuri, thanks for sending me the symbol. Can you make it a little bigger. I want to put the tattoo on my foot. Can you give the symbol for beautiful too? Also do you live in Lawrenceville? I know some one named Sayuri that lives there. Please let me know. Thanks

Hi Stephanie,
this is a symbol of a little big images for love and beauty in Japanese.

I'm sorry that I can't find image for Stephanie in Japanese...
And I don't live in Lawrenceville, I live in Tokyo.
