I have a picture file with kanji in it and need it typed out in text in the same the same format. Im having trouble finding them (plus, I have already did 800+ of em), so was wondering if someone could give me a hand here. its just taking the picture and making it text, no translation is needed. Thank you :-)

Dear Sir,
it seems that this text should be nothing to do with Japanese but rather Chinese because it contains no proper Japanese characters such as Hiragna or Katakana, (Mr. Anonymous should certainly agree with me). Post the same question to a Chinese language forum if it exists.
Best regards,

I do agree with you, info, that this is definitely chinese characters. It may very well be manyougana (万葉仮名), however, I would definitely lean toward the side of it being Chinese Text rather than Japanese Text because it is just... well... it doesn't look japanese.

Please, as info stated, bring this up at a Chinese Forum.

hmm... 万葉仮名, huh? what's up with that?

万葉仮名 【まんようがな】 (n) early Japanese syllabary composed of Chinese characters used phonetically

What do they mean? Sorry, I just can't resist popping into a topic when I find something that interestsm me.

Well, I have dumped these images from a Japanese PSX game, so I could only assume its all Japanese. I just need the characters themselves in an editble form such as text rather than this picture file so I can comeplete the Kanji table for the game.

Could you say from where you got them in the game? Were they on some building? I think if you could dump them in the forms of sentences... or maybe the whole screen dumps, that would be a big help. Also, what is the name of the game?

Here is a good list of 万葉仮名 (in Shift-JIS).
But, some of the characters in your picture are not clear enough even for Japanese natives. I mean, some of them seem too old / siplified, like in Chinese KANJI.
Then, you might wonder why they are in Japanese games. As Mr. Anonymous( August 28, 2003 - 11:04 am) says, we can read them from the context.
