Dear madam, The letters at the top of the carving mean "I pray for the world peace" The letters on the left below are the date "March 12, 18th of Showa era (1943)" The top letter on the right below, I am unable to decipher. I will check again my kanji dictionary. Kind regards. |

Well here would be about the best place, as auto online translators screw up often on complex sentences, and words in kana (not kanji). But single words should be fine. Just to save you some trouble, here is the symbol for faith:
Anyway, you can use this online translator if you want to translate single words: http://www.systranlinks.com/systran/cgi but do NOT trust it for translating big sentences. Stuff like "I am a pig," or "She drank some water" is fine, but don't give it something that's the slightest bit complicated, like "She fell into the water." OK? どう致しまして! You're welcome!
