Does anyone know what/who is "ushi tora no kunjin" ?.

It should be "ushi tora no konjin" = 丑寅の金神 and not "kunjin".
In the Asian tradition, the cardinal points are interpreted by 12 Chinese zodiac symbols and "Ushi (cow) Tora (tiger)" corresponds to the north-east direction.
According to Onmyodo (陰陽道) the demons should enter a house from this direction and we call it Kimon (鬼門 = demon's gate).
So it is important not to install vital functions of the house such as water or fire related matters in this corner.
Konjin is a protector of this corner, now considered the god of health.
