Are you a nail biter?

I'm a life long nail biter, though I have quit on numerous occasions. When I was pregnant, i was taking prenatal vitamins and my nails grew to over an inch long due to the increased vitamins and minerals I was taking. It was very hard to bite my nails so I stopped. I clipped my nails when my baby was born for safety. Now I've found that sometimes I still nibble on my finger tips when I'm nervous. Once I figured out that nail biting is a compulsion, like something I do when I'm under stress, it was easier to deal with. Now I rarely bite my nails but they never really grow either. :/

Re: Are you a nail biter?

I find biting a stinky thing to do. Sorry for that. I have friend who have the same habit and it's also hard for them to stop it. Just bear in mind the hazards that accompany nail biting.

Nail biting is not a good thing for dental health either as you can push your teeth out of alignment. However, for some people this is more of a compulsion rather than just habit. Lately, I've been working more and don't have time to sit and worry about things, so I don't bite my nails and now they are growing out. I might not allow them to grow past the end of my fingertips though as I like to type on my keyboard a lot.
