Even in America, basketball is only played by those who are extremely tall. But, you don’t' typically see very many tall Japanese people, even sportsmen. Is basketball a very popular sport in Japan? |

It's not as popular as it may seem when you watch the Japanese national team play. The crowd really gets into it, but that's the extent of it. |

Maybe it's just another reason for a large public gathering, where people can get out of their homes and socialize with others. |
