Hi, Ms. Anon,
hoping to get a rough translation for

"believe in yourself"
Doesn't directly translate, I know, but was wondering if you or someone else might know a phrase (or 2!) with a similiar meaning or that could be used in similar contexts.

Max,

"Believe in yourself" can be translated into 自分を信じる (jibun o shinjiru).

If you want a phrase that approximates the meaning, the one that came up to mind is 自己受容 (jiko-juyou; self-acceptance or accepting what you really are).

Nylin? Is nylin a name?

If it is, its characters would be ナイリン.

But the characters 日本語 (nihongo) mean "Japanese language".

Hi

I'm involved in a role-playing game where I'm playing an oriental-type character. I've been searching for places that can translate words from English to Japanese romaji, since the forum we're using can't do anything but US-ASCII text, which renders Babelfish and co. unusable.

Playing on the fish, I get 'knowledge' translated as 知識. I'd be grateful if anyone could send/post the romaji for this, and then any ideas on where I'd be able to find an English<->romaji translation site.

Thanks in advance. :-)

Hi,I'm not sure how you've got to know kaida is small dragon. I have never heared of it... I looked up dictionary but couldn't find it in there. If you want small dragon, it will be 小龍 or 小竜. I don't think those can be pronounced kaida though... normal pronounciation for thoese two would be SHOURYU. I have never heared of it as a name though...... anyway.... congratulations for the baby! also, for me first character came to my mind for Kanaeda was 金枝 its gold branch(for tree), it can be used for sirname but I haven't heared for first name..... hope you can find good name for your kitten ;) To all, Chinese character in Japanese has a lot of meaning and a lot of pronounciation for each. I just showed most normal way to think of from the pronounciation. you could find other characters if you want specific meaning for that pronaunciation.....
